The Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, BHU is to organize the 49th All India Conference of Dravidian Linguists.
On the occasion of the golden jubilee celebration of the Department, the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, BHU is organizing the upcoming 49th All India Conference of Dravidian Linguists (AICDL) from 28-30 June 2022. It is going to be held in the Malviya Mulya Anushilan Kendra on BHU premises. According to the Head of the Department and the Organizing Secretary of the conference, Dr. Abhinav Kumar Mishra, over three hundred linguists from different parts of the nation are going to attend the event. At the conference more than twenty lectures are to be delivered by eminent speakers and over 100 research papers would be presented by scholars from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
Dr. Mishra says that Dravidian Linguistic Association (DLA) is one of the most prominent linguistic organizations in India in which over 2000 life members are registered. The chief objective of the organization is to protect and promote the Indian languages.
Dr. Mishra further adds that the Department of Linguistics, BHU was established in the year 1972. With limited resources but strong determination, the department has achieved new heights of success over five decades. Numerous students of the department hailing from different parts of India have been placed in different sectors in central, state, and private organizations. The students are actively contributing to the preservation and promotion of languages. Dr. Mishra also that all the faculty members and students are feeling extremely privileged and honored in organizing this national conference.
