  India has added 456 megawatts( MW) of rooftop solar in Q1 2022, which is a 13 increase compared to the 402 MW installed in Q4 2021. In a time-over-year( YoY) comparison, this is a 34 time-over-year growth compared to 341 MW registered in the same period last time, according to a exploration report concerning Q1 2022.   Recycling of PV modules at end of life and processes for isolation/ exercise of different factors of PV modules. 

 Development of mongrel inverters suitable for Indian Grid. 

 Development of high effectiveness( 6 ’ x6 ’ or more) perovskite/ organic/ multijunction solar cell. 

 Development of low cost and effective PV grounded thermal storehouse systems for refrigeration in cold warehouses, milk chillers and air conditioners. 

 Development of a solar cuisine system( chulha) with storehouse. 

Waste water recovery from artificial waste through solar technologies. 

 Innovative Solar thermal technologies for cooling/ process heating for Artificial operations. 

 Study of the environmental impact on development of large scale solar power shops or solar premises . 

 Automatic shadow discovery via digital image process for solar rooftops. 

 Development of movable solar rooftop power shops with draw and play systems. 

 Development of high capacity solar pumps and irrigation systems for hilly regions. 

 Development of Universal Solar Pump Controller( USPC). 

 Sustainable cleaning of PV modules. 

 Innovative Agro PV grounded solar shops. 

 likewise, the ministry is enforcing the Grid- connected Rooftop Solar Scheme( Phase- II). Under this scheme, the Ministry is furnishing 40 subvention for the first 3 kW and 20 subvention beyond 3 kW and upto 10 kW. The scheme is being enforced in the countries by original DISCOMs only. 

  The renewable energy capacity addition in India stood at8.2 GW for the first eight months of FY22 against3.4 GW for the first eight months of FY21. 

 India is the third- largest patron and alternate- largest consumer of electricity worldwide. 

  As of January 2022, India’s installed renewable energy capacity( from all renewable sources) stood at152.36 GW, representing38.56 of the overall installed power capacity. Power generation from renewable energy sources stood at13.15 billion units( BU) in January 2022, over from11.51 BU in January 2021. Out of them, solar energy is estimated to contribute50.30 GW, followed by40.1 GW from wind power,10.17 GW from biomass and46.51 GW from hydropower. 

 Sustained profitable growth continues to drive electricity demand in India, and the Indian power sector is witnessing a significant change. The Government of India, by its focus on attaining ‘ Power for all ’, has speeded up capacity addition in the country. Installed renewable power generation capacity has gained pace over the once many times, posting a composite periodic growth rate( CAGR) of17.33 between FY16- 20. 

 As India is looking to meet its energy demand on its own, which is anticipated to reach Terawatt- hour( TWh) by 2040, with the raised support of the Government and bettered economics, the renewable energy sector is playing an important part. Accordingly, the Indian renewable energy sector is the fourth most seductive renewable energy request in the world. 

  Back to rooftop solar. In Q1 2022, rooftop solar reckoned for 15 of the total solar installations. At the end of Q1, India’s accretive rooftop solar capacity was roughly7.6 GW. During the quarter, 47 of the installations were in the artificial member, followed by 29, 22, and 2 in marketable, domestic, and government parts. About1.2 GW of empanelment tenders were floated by Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, and West Bengal. 

 According to the report, In Q1 2022, extending exertion increased by 269 compared to Q4 2021 and 214 compared to the same period last time. 

  Among the countries with loftiest accretive rooftop installations at the end of Q1 2022, Gujarat is on the top. Maharashtra and Rajasthan rank second and third, with the top 10 countries counting for nearly 73 of the rooftop solar capacity.
