Farmers meeting and training for Organic vegetable production by Vertical farming at Village-Bhiti, Post-Ram Nagar, Varanasi

Dr. Jay Prakash Verma, Senior Assistant Professor, Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, BHU has conducted Farmers meeting and training on dated 22.06.2022 for Organic vegetable production by Vertical farming at Village-Bhiti, Post-Ram Nagar, Varanasi.  This is a sponsored project entitled "Developing low-cost technology for organic vegetable production through vertical farming at the home of SC farmers of Varanasi district” funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi under the Principal investigator of Dr. J. P. Verma, Senior Assistant Professor, Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, BHU.

Under this program, Dr. Verma has conducted farmers meeting to create awareness about vertical farming practices for producing leafy palak, choral, dhania, lauki and Kohara, and other vegetables at the home of SC farmers with kitchen waste by decomposing by effective decomposer and biofertilizers. Dr. Verma and his research team have distributed seeds of palak, choral, dhania, lauki, and Kohara and a 40 ml liquid culture of biofertilizers. By this SC farmers can grow this vegetable at home and use it for enhancing their own immunity and fulfilling the nutritional deficiency. Those farmers have won fields they can grow their own field by use of effective biofertilizers. This will boost productivity, nutritional quality, and soil health.

This will be used as direct microbial culture and its product for soil, seed, and foliar application for vegetable and other crop productivity. This will also enhance the immunity of plants against soil-borne phytopathogens. My research student Mr. Arpan Mukherjee, Deepak Kumar, and Anand Kumar Gaurav told about the application of bio-decompose and biofertilizer during seed sowing in liquid culture and how that helps enhance the productivity and immunity of our body. Many farmers present his name-Raja  Babu Sonkar, Awadh Kishor Raj, Anil Kumar, Dr. Gorakhnath, Kishan, Rajendra, Raj Kumar, Shila, Rani, Soni, Munni Devi, Phultara, Shyamrathi, Santosh Kumar, Sahabraj, Jitendra, Nanadlal,  Shaila, Shanti, Biti Devi, Sonu, and Priyanka.
