Unnyan 2022 - The Annual Cultural Fest of the Institute of Management Studies

 After resuming the offline classes in the Institute of Management Studies campus,the students atInstitute of Management Studies are buzzing with enthusiasm as they are ready for the annual cultural fest, "Unnayan 2022."  It is a two-day program organised by Institute of Management Studies scheduled on March 11th and 12th, 2022. “Visvires”, the cultural club of the institute has coordinated many activities to organise this event successfully.

The winners of the events scheduled in “Unnayan”represent the institute in the famed BHU Campus Cultural Festival, "Spandan". So, it’s a matter of both pride and prestige for the students and competition is tough. This “Unnayan” is being organised by the institute after a gap of two years due to the pandemic. The participants of Unnayan are very enthusiastic and energetic for this cultural fest.

Adhering to the traditional and cultural ethos of Banaras Hindu University, the opening ceremony of the event was marked by lamp lighting and garlanding the bust of Bharat RatnaMahamanaPandit Madan Mohan Malviya ji, followed by Kulgeet, Ganesh Vanadana and other singing performances. The Student Advisor of the Institute Dr Anurag Singh briefed about various events and participation of the students. Dean Prof H. P. Mathur addressed the students and said that in the corporate world, work pressure and stress are prevalent, and it is extremely essential to have hobbies and activities which lets an individual destress. In line with this thought, each year, Unnayan gives the future managers of the IM-BHU a platform to showcase their talents in the field of music, literature, art, and creativity and encourages them to pursue more than only academics.

The Director of the Institute, Prof S K Dubey in his address to the students, encouraged them to participate in different events and said that participation is more important than winning. He expressed his encouragement for the initiative taken by the students to organise such a grand event within a short period of time.

The morning session, day one of the event witnessed inaugural of Unnayan, the participation of the students ina rangoli competition,quiz competition and painting competition. The post lunch session maintained high energy through a variety of cultural and literary contests which included classical singing (solo), western singing (solo), sketching, elocution, mono-acting and turncoat. The day came to an end with a treasure hunt around the campus organised by students, which drew the largest crowd.Not letting the energy drop, day two promises to be equally thrilling with an array of events such as photography, mehndi art, poetry, best out of waste, be a character, solo dance(classical and western) and a group song competition lined up. The Closing Ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 12th, at 5.00 p.m. for the distribution of prizes to the winners of all the respective events. The closing ceremony shall be followed by a fashion walk of the students. The Unnayan 2022 wassponsored by many local business houses.

For the students of the existing batches at the institute, this event will be the first on campus event. Every student at the Institute is excited to ensure their participation as this event is giving them a great opportunity to interact among themselves at a place outside the periphery of academics.
