Pune : PM Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Pune Municipal Corporation premises today. This idol is made of 1,850 kg of gun metal, which is about 9.5 feet in height. During this, PM Modi said that it is my good fortune that you had called me for the foundation stone laying of Pune Metro and now you have given me an opportunity to inaugurate it. In such a situation, modern facilities are the need of the people of Pune and our government is working keeping this need of the people of Pune in mind.
Green transport in every city
Regarding the introduction of Metro in Pune, he said that till 2014, there was a massive expansion of Metro only in Delhi-NCR of the country. The metro had only started reaching the rest of the few cities. Today metro has either become operational in more than 2 dozen cities of the country or is going to start soon. He said that it is the endeavor of our government that every city should have maximum green transport, electric buses, electric cars, electric two wheelers. There should be smart mobility in every city, people should use only one card for transport facilities.
Speed and scale necessary for infrastructure development
He further said that every city should have an Integrated Command and Control Center to make the facility smart. Every city should have a modern waste management system to strengthen the circular economy. There should be enough modern sewage treatment plants to make every city water plus, better arrangements should be made for the conservation of water sources. PM Modi said that the most important thing for the development of modern infrastructure in any country is speed and scale. But for decades, we have had such systems that there used to be a long delay in the completion of important projects. This slow attitude has been affecting the development of the country as well. In today's fast growing India, we have to focus on speed and also on scale. That is why our government has prepared the PM-Gatishakti National Master Plan.
PM Modi interacts with students in Metro
Let us inform that during his one-day visit to Pune, he inaugurated the 12 km rail section of the 32.2 km metro rail project. This project of total Rs 11,400 crore will provide world class infrastructure for urban movement. During this, he also traveled by buying metro train tickets through digital app. During the visit, PM Modi interacted with co-travellers, including school students. He traveled from Garware Metro Station to Anand Nagar Station. Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated and inspected an exhibition at Garware Metro Station. Let us inform that the foundation stone of this project was laid by PM Modi on December 24, 2016.
Foundation stone of Mula-Mutha river projects laid
At the same time, in Pune itself, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 5 development projects including the activities of Mula-Mutha river projects and pollution abatement. Mula-Mutha River Projects The nine kilometer stretch of the river will be rejuvenated at a project cost of over Rs 1,080 crore. During this, works like river bank protection, interceptor sewage network, public facilities, boating activities etc. will be included. The Mula-Mutha River Pollution Abatement Project will be implemented on the concept of “One City One Operator” at a cost of over Rs 1,470 crore. A total of 11 sewage treatment plants will be constructed under this project with a total capacity of about 400 MLD. During this, PM also inaugurated 140 e-buses and e-bus depot built at Baner.
Inauguration of RK Laxman Art Gallery-Museum
During his visit to Pune, PM Modi visited the local Balewadi built R.K. Inaugurated Laxman Art Gallery-Museum. The highlight of the museum is a miniature model based on Malgudi village, which will be brought to life through audio-visual effects. Cartoonist R. Of.
