BHU : On 12th of March ,a seminar and awareness
program was organized in the Institute of Medical Sciences of Banaras Hindu
University on the occasion of World Kidney Day.This program was organized under
the coordination and aegis of Department of Urology IMS BHU, Department of
Nephrology IMS BHU, National Medicos Organization IMS BHU and State Organ and
Tissue Transplant Organization Uttar Pradesh (SOTTO UP).In this program,
various diseases related to kidney, their prevention, kidney transplant etc
were discussed.Doctors and medical students participated with enthusiasm and
made people aware about kidney related
diseases and their treatments in various ways.Dr. R. Harsh Vardhan (Nodal
officer SOTTO UP),Dr S K Tiwari( president NMO IMS BHU UNIT), Faculty Heads of
Department of Urology and Nephrology of Institute of Medical Sciences and Other
proffessor and doctors were present in
the event .This information was given by the organizing secretary of this
program, Dr Yashasvi Singh( Assistant Professor Dept of urology &NMO-NOTTO
coordinator Kashi).
The programme commenced with Dr S K singh ,
professor Endocrinology ,Dean Modern Medicine, enlightened the audience with
kidney and kidney related disorders
Then Dr Shivendra Singh endowed the people
wirh the knowledge of kidney and its importance. Dr
Sameer Dwivedi further talked about organ
donation and its importance
Dr sk tiwary inaugrated the programme and
welcomed the guests to be a part of this noble cause
Dr Harshvardhan , nodal officer of SOTTO
(uttar pradesh ) discussed the organ donation activities taking place in uttar
pradesh and his vision for ims BHU
Further Dr BR mittal sir ,Dr Dhiman sir , Dr
Rajnish Sahay gave a video message
The conference ended with a vote of thanks by
Dr Yashaswi Singh and further elaborated the importance of organ donation and
the teams related to this noble cause
The activities were handled by Maj Dr anjali
raani, dr ujwal kumar and dr rameshwar chaurasia
After the conference , under the awareness
program, a cycle rally was organized from the Institute of Medical Sciences to
the Kashi Vishwanath temple located in the BHU premises.Doctors and medical
students the people present there including medical professionals, and medical
student proceeded toward the cyclothon event with Dr SK Tiwary sir initiated
the cyclothon and leaded the group of enthusiastic and spirited medicos and
cycled till the kashi vishwanath temple.
Further a grp of mbbs 2020 batch presented to
the audience with a informative nukkad natak , highlighting the importance of
our kidneys and organ donation .
The programme ended with a pledge by Dr Maj
Anjali Rani and a speech by Dr Harshvardhan .
All the people present there joined hands and
pledged to spread awareness regarding this noble cause , and sang the national
anthem with a will and spirit of togetherness.
