BHU : Today, when modern technology has made a lot of progress around the world, we need to adopt the P-4 (Predictive, Preventive, Participatory and Personalized) model to diagnose diseases. This was said by eminent scientist and JC Bose Fellow Professor BK Thelma in Professor SP Roychowdhury Memorial Lecture organized at Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University today. She showed through power point presentation that the identification and diagnosis of diseases can be made easy by genomics. Explaining the example of Parkinson's and Schizophrenia, she explained that there is a possibility to identify these diseases, in advance through genomics.
The President of the Foundation, Professor Rajiva Raman threw light on the life and research of Professor SP Roychowdhury and Professor Madhu Tapadia told the life and research of the keynote speaker. The program was conducted by Dr. Richa Arya and Dr. Gaurav Pandey has thanked to all the participants. Professor Shyam Sundar of IMS was the chief guest of the program. Also Professor AK Tripathi, Director of the Institute of Science, along with the heads of various departments, as well as teachers and research students were present in this program.
